Roofing Underlayment

Showing all 36 results

Roofing underlayment is an important part of the roofing system. Most types of underlayment are made from a water-resistant or waterproof material. The underlayment is installed directly over the roof deck and in most cases will protect the roof from moisture intrusion while the permanent roofing material is being installed. Most underlayments have a 30 to 180-day exposure rating. Please keep in mind that some water or moisture can leak through the underlayment if left exposed, as it is not intended to be a permanent solution or moisture barrier.

There are three main types of underlayments. First is your standard asphalt-saturated felt. This was the most commonly used underlayment until about 15 years ago. Second, and the most commonly used by roofers today is a synthetic underlayment. This product is much lighter with greater coverage, more durable, easier to walk on, and has better UV stability. And last would be a rubberized peel and stick underlayment. This product is used for some high temp applications but most commonly as an ice and water guard at the lower roof edge and valleys.  We stock some of the best underlayments on the market and would appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.  Most of our manufacturers are willing to send small sample rolls.  If this is something you would be interested in, please don’t hesitate to call us.
