AMES Waterproof Coatings BLUE MAX Original Blue

The Blue Max Liquid Rubber Waterproofer is a water-based, strong and highly adhesive elastomeric coating & sealant with 1200% elongation that moves with the surface to resist cracking & peeling. Ideal for waterproofing above & below grade foundations, basements, roofs, floors & more. Commonly used on masonry, cement backer board, ICF, wood, metal & EPDM. Blue Max is easy to apply with brush, roller or sprayer. When this product is used on any roofing substrate, it is important to topcoat with either our Maximum Stretch or Ames Premium Roof Armor to protect it from the sun’s UV rays.

This product is a waterproofing product that doubles as primer. Clean and dry the surface before applying. The coating will remain tacky even after drying. Wait a  minimum of 24 hours between coats for the best results. No masks required during application as this coating is non-toxic!

Blue Max is UV sensitive for outdoor applications and can remain slightly sticky when dry so top-coating with a high-quality latex paint is recommended for keeping the surface washable and protected from UV exposure. Blue Max must be fully cured (7-10 days) before top-coating.

This product is sprayable, please refer to this guide for the spray to use for your size of project:

• Small Projects – Flow rate of 0.60 GPM (i.e. Graco 495 airless). 2500-
  3000 psi. Tip size 0.412 to 0.521. Hose size 1/4 in.
• Large Projects – Flow rate of 1.0 – 2.0 GPM (i.e. Graco 695 airless). 2500-3000 psi. Tip size .417 to .625. Hose size: 3/8” reduced to 1/4” before connection to a gun swivel
