The FAMCO Stainless Steel Wind Directional Chimney Cap is designed to be an effective solution to chimney downdraft in windy areas. The cap separates the wind stream as it flows over the cap. The rotating hood is kept in proper position, relative to the wind, by the wind vane. Air movement past the hood creates a partial vacuum in the flue, enhancing draft efficiency and helping to prevent downdrafts. It is quality constructed from heavy-duty 26-gauge stainless steel. It is recommended to use Bostik High Temp Stainless Anti Seize on the rotating bracket and cleaning creosote buildup to ensure cap functions correctly and is able to rotate without issues, this should be done annually or as needed.

The FAMCO Stainless Steel Wind Directional Chimney Cap is engineered to slip around the outside diameter of a single wall pipe. For double or triple wall pipe use and measure the inside diameter and order the FAMCO Stainless Steel Chimney Cap Adapter in the corresponding size. This wind directional chimney cap comes in a range of diameters from 5 inch to 14 inch. It is manufactured in the United States and comes with a 1-year warranty against product defects and workmanship.

This model does not come with a built-in screen. It has a fixed base and will not include an adjustable draw bolt collar. We recommend securing these chimney caps with self-tapping screws (not included).
