yes, this product can be used for that application.
The Quarrix ProTect Furring Strips have different thicknesses depending on the sizing. They are available in 3 different thicknesses: 3/4", 3/8", and 5/16".
These will not collapse completely and will provide some needed spacing. They are compatible with vinyl, fiber-cement, stucco, wood and EIFS siding products.
