took a week and several phone calls to learn of delivery. The item was in stock but handled by a different company. Better communication would have been helpful.

trying to find a cast iron firebox door for brick smoker, approximate 8 x 12. need a door frame capable of mortaring into firebox or predrilled to add my own frame such as 1 1/2 inch wide flat bar Tommy asked on June 18, 2022

This Minuteman Cast Iron Clean Out Door is designed to be mortared in. It is also available in a 8" x 12" size, so this would be work for your situation!

I have a 8" x 10" opening for a fireplace ash clean out in the basement cement block. The old clean out had an outside frame dimension of 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" (leaving a 1 1/4" frame overhang on all 4 sides). Door was 8 1/4" H x 10 1/4" W. Your Product Summary notes your 8" x 12" product has an outside dimension of 11" x 17 1/2". Why so wide? Appears the frame for the 8" x 12" product has an extra 5 1/2" outside dimension for the 12" door width. Joe asked on October 6, 2021

This is larger because of the rounded top on the 8" x 12" size. We have also updated our photos to clarify the size.
