This blade cuts and rips asphalt/fiberglass shingles with no problem.  Most of these shingle cutters will also includes an angle meter on table for valley and hip cuts. If you have not tried these, it makes faster, more accurate cuts in shingles. Some of the benefits included; the use of rubber feet for better grip and traction on any roof top, hanging bracket for safer operation while on roof top, most blades are reversible for prolonging life.
